“OUR CABINS … are the very best rural cabin experience in Mudgee”

Three fully self-contained cosy cedar cabins for short-term holiday rental. In every cabin you will find linen and towels; tea and coffee-making facilities including a Nescafe Dolce coffee pod machine as well as your first cereal breakfast; Free Wifi and Telstra TV to stream your favourite entertainment services; Reverse cycle air-conditioning, and electric blankets on all beds and on the verandah, a gas BBQ and an outdoor furniture setting for your relaxation.

For those relaxing at Barella

If you are wanting an escape from the hustle and bustle of a busy life and need some RnR then sit back, enjoy the view and relax with a glass of local wine. Do some star gazing, read a book or take a stroll around the property and say Hi to Eric, the alpaca and his flock of sheep. Meet Hughey and Cookie, our resident ponies. Wake up to our signature sunrises and simply do nothing and enjoy the ambience and fresh air of rural life.

For the Adventurer

For the adventurer at heart, try the nearby Castle Rock Walk (Castle Rock Walk ) or take a drive towards Ulan for a bush walk to The Drip (The Drip Walk). Explore the area with your 4WD or for a great day adventuring, try kayaking at Dunn Swamp (Southern Cross Kayaking). Why not book a sunrise hot air balloon ride? (Balloons Aloft Mudgee) or the thrill of a motorbike tour of the region (Mudgee Trikes).

For the Wine Buff

More than 40 wineries in the Mudgee region of New South Wales have been producing premium wines and other products for more than 150 years. As a result, it could be challenging to choose just a few wineries to visit. To make things simpler for you, we’ve chosen our favourites. Our prefered Shiraz is from Bunnamagoo or Robert Steins. It is the third-largest grape-producing region in New South Wales. We can suggest various dog-friendly restaurants as well as the best Mudgee vineyards for lunch if you’re travelling with your canine companion. We also suggest a fantastic bike ride adventure that starts and ends at Peter Van Gynt, if you prefer to combine some activities when visiting wineries.

Enjoy The Tranquility

BARELLA CABINS have magnificent views to the Munghorn Gap Nature Reserve and the majestic Castle Rocks. Anticipate native wildlife,  kangaroos at first light and dusk.  Keep an eye out for wombats,  echidnas and a wide variety of native birds with the occasional visit from wedge tail eagles.  When darkness falls  expect to experience the wonders of our star filled night sky, especially the clear band of the Milky Way!
